Let me say, this is one of the best Along the Trails stops so far!
Wonderland Cave is located about 10 minutes away from Nemo, South Dakota and is accessible via atv. This was a very warm day in July outside, but It’s only 47F degrees in the cave, it hit me like a ton of bricks walking into the cave. It’s cold! Make sure you dress appropriately!
This is a guided tour, and the tour is very informative. Our guide was fantastic and eager to share her knowledge. The tour lasts about an hour or so.
Just so you’re aware, there is a large number of stairs that you climb down to get further into the cave, then you have to climb out! Everyone made it, but many were winded!
This is a great tour, there is a wide variety of formations to view along the tour and everything is explained. Questions are encouraged.
I have to say, this was a very good way to break up the day of riding, especially in a cool cave on a hot day!
It’s a little pricy, especially for multi-member families, Price for entry was right around $20 for adults.
