Remmy and I waking up to a beautiful view! [/caption]
Wolf Creek Campground in Gratiot, Wisconsin is located in the heart of the Cheese State Trail System and is a fantastic base camp for your off-roading adventure, with a big “if”! You can see in the picture above what the problem is, It’s the fire ring, I will explain what I mean below.…
This is a beautiful campground with all the modern amenities you could want, Located right on the scenic Wolf Creek, which drains into the nearby Pecatonica River. The campsites have water and electric, Fire rings and picnic tables. There’s a shower house and modern restroom facilities and it’s located a block away from Downtown Gratiot with a gas / convenience store and restaurants, Though it is a very small town, there’s enough there to get you by for sure.

The Problem…
The issue with this campground is the campsites are close together, that’s not really the heart of the issue. The real problem is where the fire rings are located. There are extremely close the next rv. All the smoke is pouring into the rv while I was there. Now, I’m all for a fire and smoke and all that jazz, but not right outside my rv window.
To top it off, you can tell that this campground draws in “Weekend Campers” because it was literally 85 degrees outside and these people have campfires burning, LOL. I almost couldn’t believe it! Oh well.

Please don’t let my experience sway you not to try this campground, This campground is too nice to pass by, especially for a Municipal Campground!
Just be aware of the proximity of these sites / fire rings and be prepared. I stayed in the rv this time due to the smoke, which was fine.
Other than that, great campground, great facilities and located directly on the Cheese State Trail with fantastic access via State Hwy 11, couldn’t have asked for much more!
