Shell Campground in the small town of Shell, Wyoming a great place to stay at the base of the western side of the Bighorn Mountains. They claim to be the closest full-service campground to the Bighorn Mountains. Overall, Very nice facilities, Bathrooms and showers are in great condition.
The Campground is very close to Shell Canyon on US HWY 14 which has loads of activities close by including hiking and Shell Canyon / Shell falls, a must see while in the area.
While not directly on the atv trails, they do have access via local roads which take you to the trails. The atv trails in the Bighorn Mountains are top notch, check our our other articles about the Bighorn Mountains.
The only complaint would be the very tight campground sites, in fact, in the picture, you can see the bicycles and atv. I didn’t know it until i was told, but, that was another camping spot. It’s too bad, it’s about the only downfall of the campground. It’s defiantly catering to RV campers, like the one in the background in the picture. Was not able to deploy awning, which is problaby a good thing because while there, it got very windy, i’m assuming due to location, at the base of the mountains.

Overall, This is a great campground, Great facilities, Great people! They made the stay special. It was my Birthday and they also own a small bakery in town. Earlier in march when i booked the campground site, i requested a special cake for our special trip! Wow, Over the top, Thank you again!
