This excursion was to the Crazy Horse memorial in South Dakota. First off, I have to say, I visited this memorial as a child and it made an impact on me then. So much so, that I needed to revisit the site to really appreciate it.
It’s absolutely amazing the story behind this memorial, when you have time, please look up the history of it.
So, Today, the memorial is still under construction, After all these years! Shows the amount of work involved in carving a memorial into the side of a mountain!
Even though the memorial is still under construction, It is very much worth going to the site to see it. The main building in the memorial is stunning, with a vast collection of Native American Heritage pieces!
I can not say enough about how truly massive this collection is. You could spend days going through everything, So educational! It is well worth the price of admission!
