Mud flaps mounted on rear of my Polaris General [/caption]
You might be asking yourself, Why… Now, You have to put yourself in my place. In the past, up we had ATVs, very little protection from anything. So, even though you were far away from one another and wore some protection like helmets, you still would get pelted by rocks and sticks picked up by the atv in front of you, Painful at times.
Fast forward to today, We have utvs and glass windshields, so to protect the riders (& Glass) behind me, I came up with this as a solution. We drilled into the Ryfab Bumper that I had purchased and bolted in a piece of Aluminum to use as a mounting bracket to mount the mudflap, In this case I used a Rock Tamers brand mud flap and cut it width wise to the size I needed.
The Rock Tammer brand mud flaps are expensive but work great because they are the perfect length, Just 4'“ or 5” above dragging on the ground and I cut them to the width I need.
I do have to roll them up and bungie them when offloading the machine from the trailer otherwise they do get pulled off by being pinched between the ground and the tire itself. Other than that, they work fantastic!
Also I installed Grizztech over fenders to keep rocks from flinging up around the stock fenders.
This is just as much about looking good as it is functional, this an odd feature I added, not everyone needs this, but I thought i’d share with you the reasoning behind this.
