We were riding along Benson Lake Road in Marinette County, Wisconsin. A Busy area for trout fisherman, We came across this shrine, quite literally in the middle of no-where!
It’s a beautiful area, right along the Peshtigo River and well worth the trek. It’s near the Marinette / Oconto County line on Bensen Lake Road. I don’t have any back story, If anyone knows additional details, please comment below. From reading other area websites, the caretaker for the site has passed recently, hopefully someone will takeover.
I can not overstate how beautiful the area is, the Peshtigo River is on the other side of Bensen Lake Road and is worth stopping in the area to see by itself. This Shrine just adds more reason for you to visit.
