The Forest County Trails through the Nicolet National Forest are fantastic, Well-maintained trails through dense forests, what’s not to like. Took a ride to Phelps, WI in Vilas County. There is a lot of great shops and restaurants in the area. Nice little day trip from the campgrounds in Forest County.
A good chunk of trails this time around were on forest logging roads, which I am not too much a fan of. I understand that there are actual trails within Forest County, Just didn’t get to many of this this time around.

Plenty of fantastic Campgrounds in Forest County, Like Forest Pond Campground. We stayed there (Check out our review) Very nice campground with trail access via a dire road across Hwy 70. Fantastic and helpful owners, checked in on us during our stay.
