This was the first trip of 2022 and I couldn’t wait to get out of the house and into nature again! Apparently, The rest of Southern WI had the same idea, Traffic was bad.
Marinette and Oconto Trails are some of the the closest to the larger Metro areas of Wisconsin so they are naturally busier, The savior of this system from the Inundation, is the size of the trail system, It’s huge! Marinette County alone boasts over 450 miles and these trails connect to the surrounding systems and Upper Michigan. So, to say you could spend some time here and not see the same trail is an understatement!
Great trails, Beautiful forests, Doesn’t get much better! These videos were taken north of Athelstane, WI in West-Central Marinette County Near McClintock Park & Campground on a beautiful 60 degree day. This was the first weekend that the trails were open in Marnette County. There was still a little bit of snow in some areas of the forest, Re-enforcing that it’s still early spring in north-eastern Wisconsin!
